Anita Ušacka

Judge of the Constitutional Court

Anita Ušacka was born on 26 April 1952.

In 1975 graduated from the Latvia University Faculty of Law, but in 1980 graduated from post–graduate course of the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University. Doctor of Legal Sciences. Since 1980 – a lecturer at the Latvia University, from 2002 – a Professor. From 1994 to 1996 – Managing Director of the UNICEF Latvia branch.

In October 1996, Anita Ušacka was approved as the Judge of the Constitutional Court. She held this position until 2003, when she was approved as a Judge of the International Criminal Court.

In 2021, she received the Justice System 2nd degree Medal of Honor for a particularly significant contribution or achievement in strengthening the justice system.
