Database of case law

The database of the case-law of the Constitutional Court contains the most important findings from the judgements of the Constitutional Court, decisions on termination of proceedings in a case and individual opinions of judges. These insights are organised by keywords and categories. The database also contains statistics on applicants, contested norms, the institutions that issued them, as well as other information related to the Constitutional Court proceedings.

The database was created using Citavi. To use the database, users must first download and install the software on their computer. If you choose version 5 (Citavi 5.7.1), you can use it for free in a limited way. The software is available here. The user manual can be found on the website of the developers(www.citavi.com).

After installing the software, you need to download the database file. To open the database, you need to open the file. The database should then be prepared for use according to the instructions. The database is regularly updated, so it is recommended to download an updated database file from time to time. The information posted by the Constitutional Court in the database is in Latvian. However, the main language of the Citavi software is English. A translation of the terms used in Citavi is therefore also available.
