President of the Constitutional Court Ineta Ziemele thanked the author of the book for collecting the work spanning more than a decade in one collection of articles, thus, summarising also a small part of our modern history. Dr.hist. Guntis Zemītis underscored that this book explained values that characterised our society and its development. Therefore, although this book is a collection of separate articles and speeches on the Latvian State and the history of its law, it is a uniform work that will be of interest to all readers eager to know how our society evolved.

President of Latvia Egils Levits noted that “In her book, Sanita Osipova speaks about the nation as the foundation of the State. Language, nation, values-based State – this is the chain that has shaped our present. It is important to be aware of it to deliver better, clearer rulings of judges. The judgements of the Constitutional Court have both explanatory and pedagogical effect – for the society to understand why the particular judgement has been delivered and what its links to the values are”.

In conclusion, Sanita Osipova read a fragment from her speech at the conference of 8 November 2019 “World without Walls”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
