Law students from Germany visit the Constitutional Court

On Tuesday, the 4th of April, law students from Hannover visited the Constitutional Court to study experience of other countries as part of their internship. The students met advisors of the Constitutional Court Gatis Bārdiņš and Kristaps Tamužs.

During the visit students were informed about the functions of the Constitutional Court and legal proceedings before the Constitutional Court. Advisors also told the students about topical cases of the Constitutional Court and highlighted the importance of international judicial cooperation. They, inter alia, underscored the significant influence of the case law of the German Federal Constitutional Court upon Latvia’s constitutional law. During the final part of the meeting the advisors answered students’ questions.

The visit of German law students to Latvia was organised by German company “Moveo-Studienreisen GmbH”.
