Gunārs Kusiņš leaves the position of the Judge of the Constitutional Court upon the expiry of his term of office

Today, 3 September, Gunārs Kusiņš resigned from the position of the Judge of the Constitutional Court due to the expiry of his term of office.

The Parliament confirmed Gunārs Kusiņš as a Judge of the Constitutional Court on 6 February 2014, and he took the position on 19 February 2014.

On 15 February 2024, the Parliament confirmed Mārtiņš Mits as a Judge of the Constitutional Court. Following the President’s agenda, Mārtiņš Mits’ assumption of position after the expiry of the mandate of Justice Gunārs Kusiņš is scheduled to occur together with the swearing-in of the President of Latvia on 4 September.
