At the 137th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission, the President of the Constitutional Court of Latvia is elected Vice-Chair of the Sub-commission on Democratic Institutions

On December 15 and 16, President of the Constitutional Court of Latvia Aldis Laviņš participated in the 137th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission, where opinions on constitutional law issues affecting the Commission’s member states were approved.

On December 16, at the plenary session of the Venice Commission, the President of the Constitutional Court of Latvia was elected Vice-President of the Sub-commission on Democratic Institutions. Aldis Laviņš highlighted the sustainability of democracy and the rule of law as a prerequisite for a united and secure Europe.
