Election of the President of the Constitutional Court will be held

 On Wednesday, 23 January at 11 a.m. at the Courtroom of the Constitutional Court, 1 J. Alunāna Str., Riga, the election of the President of the Constitutional Court will be held.

The President of the Constitutional Court is elected by secret ballot from among the Justices of the Constitutional Court. The President’s term of office is three years.

The current President of the Constitutional Court is Gunārs Kūtris, Justice of the Constitutional Court. He came into this office on 31 January 2007 and was re-elected to the position of the President in 2010. The President’s term of office expires on 30 January this year.

The election will be held in an open court sitting. Those interested in participating in the court sitting should announce their participation to the Assistant to the President Līna Kovalevska by e-mail lina.kovalevska@satv.tiesa.gov.lv or by phone 29813216.
