On Monday, the 3rd of April, a delegation from the Republic of Turkmenistan visited the Constitutional Court. During the visit members of the delegation met the President of the Constitutional Court Aldis Laviņš and the Head of the Legal Department of the Constitutional Court Alla Spale. The guests were provided an insight into the topical issues related to the work of the Constitutional Court and constitutional review in Latvia.

The President of the Constitutional Court Aldis Laviņš addressed the delegation and said: “We are very pleased by this opportunity to share our knowledge with colleagues from the Republic of Turkmenistan, who are currently working on their administrative procedure and are drafting regulatory enactments related to it. In the process of reforms it is important to study the experience of other countries and consider what can be taken over to make the reform process successful.”

The delegation consisted of members of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkmenistan, employees of the Prosecutor’s General Office, as well as representatives of other institutions who are involved in drafting and implementing regulation on administrative procedure. The visit was organised and financed by the German Society for International Cooperation (“Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (GIZ)).
