The Constitutional Court will organize a conference on constitutional rights
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia, in collaboration with the Venice Commission, will organize an international conference on constitutional rights “The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Protection of Constitutional Values” taking place on 29 and 30 September of this year.
The floor will be given to president and judges of the Constitutional Court, those of foreign constitutional courts, as well as experts of the constitutional rights to discuss urgent issues on protection and strengthening of constitutional values.
During the two Conference days, the following topics will be dealt with: Constitutional Values during Crisis: Understanding and Protection thereof, Application of the Case-Law of Other States in Strengthening Constitutional Values, : Cooperation between Branches of Power in Strengthening of Constitutional Values and The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Protection of Constitutional Values: Experience of Different European States.
At the Conference, interpretation into Latvian, Russian and English languages will be ensured.
The Conference will take place in the premises of Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel in Riga, 24, Kuģu Street.
