The Constitutional Court has joined the Superior Courts Network of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Joining this network is an important step in facilitating high quality dialogue between the Constitutional Court and ECHR. The dialogue in the framework of the judicial network will ensure effective exchange of information both to the Constitutional Court and ECHR.

President of the Constitutional Court Ineta Ziemele underscores: “For the Constitutional Court this communication tool will serve as a platform for effective access to ECHR’s information.  This communication will continue transfer of the European understanding of law to the work of the Constitutional Court and will promote recognisability of the Court in Europe.”

President of ECHR Guido Raimondi expressed his delight about the Constitutional Court joining the Superior Court Network, becoming “a part of this joint endeavour to enrich dialogue and assist the implementation of the Convention, as well as to create a practical and useful means of exchanging relevant information on Convention case-law and related matters.”

The Superior Courts Network of the European Court of Human Rights was established at the end of 2015 with the aim of facilitating implementation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in member states.  United understanding   reinforces the creation of a stable and high quality European legal space in the realm of human rights.
