Artūrs Kučs will take the judge’s oath and enter the office of the Justice of the Constitutional Court

On Friday, 21 April, Artūrs Kučs will take the judge’s oath and will begin performing duties of the Justice of the Constitutional Court. Artūrs Kučs was appointed by the Saeima into the office of a Justice on 22 December 2016.

The oath of a Justice of the Constitutional Court is accepted by the President of the State. The Justice takes the oath to be honest and fair, to be loyal to the Republic of Latvia, always strive to establish the truth and never betray it, and to administer justice in compliance with the Satversme and laws of the Republic of Latvia.

The ceremony of oath taking by the Justice of the Constitutional Court will be held at Riga Castle at 11.00 a.m. Media representatives will have the possibility to take photos and make video recordings during the ceremony. Mass media representatives without permanent accreditation for working at Riga Castel are requested to inform about their participation until 17.00 of the previous business day by e-mail to: prese@president.lv.

Media representatives are expected to arrive to Riga Castle thorough the garden gate at least 15 minutes prior to the event. We kindly request to abide by business dress code (suit).
